"Omnipotence" is the central divine attribute because it best describes God's unity and singularity. It refers first and foremost to the omnipotence and efficacy of God's word. The word is all-powerful in the sense that it does what it promises (cf. Rom 4:21). In the end it will overcome all the attacks that faith must endure this side of the graves as it cries out to God with its complaints.
