As a philosophical discipline, the aesthetics of nature describes the fundamental structure of a modern experience of nature. A re-reading of Kant, Adorno and more contemporary contributors reveals that the experienceof nature may be understood as an experience of transcendence, not unlike the experience of the sublime or the experience of beauty. Although the experience of nature is not identical to the Christian belief of creation, it does, however, form an important and necessary background connecting themodern understanding of the natural world and faith in creation. Thus, a certain experience of nature could give the theory of creation personal andempirical plausibility.
