Full of symbolism, biblical reference and in elaborated prose, Tess tells about the struggling against circumstances of a pretty country girl. Seduced and condemned Tess falls victim to sexual double standard in Victorian England. Roman Polanski adapted the novel in film with Nastassja Kinski as Tess.Dt.
