Glaube und Lernen: Geisterfahrung und Geist-Theologie

Based on observation of the Pentecostal movement in Latin America, the article develops a systematic-theological reflection on pneumatology. 'The Pentecostal Movement' does not exist. Rather, the religious practice and therefore the idea of the Holy Spirit is highly differentiated in various, mostly class-specific churches. Mow similar observations also apply to the theology in an academic context as a whole and thus also for academic pneumatology. In a second step therefore the 'experiences of theologians' need to be put in the context of their theology. As experiences often are associated with a thigt focus on church, the critical question of an ecclesogenic narrowing of pneumatology arises. This narrowing ist oppose to a version of pneumatology that is universalistic and anchored in the Old Testament. From this plus attention to class-specific differences, new perspectives arise for a (not only) Pentecostal pneumatology.
