Music can be very helpful in religious education to support targets in teaching and learning contexts. This contribution will present four possibilities for, how music can be used in RE. The first is to hear music included by way of listening to different styles of music, and from this it follows that perception can be promoted in religious education. The second is to make music in the form of singing and playing music with different instruments in order to promote interactivity between the participants in RE, the students, the teacher and the subjects. The third is to create certain ideas and projects in RE in combination with music, for example in the film. This is a great posibility for realizing interdisciplinary contexts in RE. The fourth is to under.stand the connection between music and religion in a deeper way than in everyday life. Here music can be used as a key competence to support distinguishing ability. In this contribution religious education and music education will come together in a theoretical, methodical and practical way.
