Das Medium verdeutlicht mit Hilfe von 3D-Computeranimationen die Abläufe der Fotosynthese. Die Darstellungen von Wasser, Gasen und Nährstoffen sind stark stilisiert. Die Filme beschreiben die Fotosynthese in Wortgleichungen. Die 3DComputeranimationen sind filmisch eingebettet in eine kleine Rahmenhandlung. Der Architekturstudent Moritz entwickelt sich zum Pflanzenfan und "Hobby-Fotosynthese-Forscher". Für die Klassen 5- 6 haben die Filme keine Rahmenhandlung und bringen stattdessen viele unmittelbare Realbezüge in Natur und Umwelt.
