The article shows the way of a liberal Protestant and recognized preacher out of the Protestant church by the founder of the anthroposophical Christian Community, Friedrich Rittelmeyer. By analysing Rittelmeyer's statements on Rudolf Steiner and by tracing the changes in his theology - exemplified by the path from Jesus to Christ - his conversion and his decision for the closed system of Steiner's worldview are made plausible. Rittelmeyer stands with the Christengemeinschaft in the context of the religious roaring twenties.
