In German religion courses taken during the first stage of secondary schooling (students ages 10-15), the Reformation is a standard topic. The article looks at Protestant textbooks from past and present. Luther is no longer portrayed as the one and only perfect religious hero and "correct" theologian, but rather current teaching materials leave space for the students to take their own stances on Luther and the Reformation.
