This essay deals with the question of the impact of ageing pastors which is of growing relevance due to the demographic change in German society. Pastors of different ages were asked about their opinion on contentment and motivation in being a pastor and their personal view on ageing. It can be shown that the profession of pastor bears high potentials the older one gets and that important aspects of discontentment with the job have to be identified within the present discussion about ministry in general.
