Die Lernortforschung gehört zu den disziplinären Kernthemen der Berufsbildungsforschung. Seit der Lernortkonzeption des Deutschen Bildungsrats in den 1970er-Jahren werden das Lernortkonzept und Ansätze einer Theorie der Lernorte kontrovers diskutiert, unterschiedliche Modelle von Lernortverbünden und Lernortkooperationen werden realisiert und analysiert. Auch die Erschließung und Gestaltung von arbeitsintegrierten Lernorten gewinnt angesichts der Renaissance des Lernens in der Arbeit zunehmende Bedeutung. In der Berufsbildung und betrieblichen Weiterbildung erfolgt eine Differenzierung, Pluralisierung und Entgrenzung von Lernorten. Lernende Unternehmen und Netzwerke sind der vorläufige Endpunkt dieser Entwicklung. In diesem Beitrag wird die Lernortforschung vor diesem Hintergrund bilanziert, und es werden Desiderate und Perspektiven aufgezeigt. Research on the place of learning forms one of the discipline's core topics of research on vocational education. Starting with the conception of locus of learning, formulated by the German Educational Council in the 1970s, the concept of place of learning and approaches to a theory of learning loci are discussed controversially, and different models for the integration of and cooperation between learning places are realized and analyzed. The development and design of places of learning integrated into the places of work also gain in importance in face of the renaissance of the concept of learning at work. In vocational education and within-company further education learning places are undergoing a differentiation, pluralization and delimitation. Companies and networks that are in the process of learning presently mark the final point in this development. Against this background, the author takes stock of research on learning places and points out desiderata and perspectives.
