The article outlines the shift in scientific paradigms that has led to a historical relativisation of "the one" sexuality since the 1980s, and takes a speculative look at today?s diverse possibilities regarding practical sexuality and biotechnology from this perspective. Their characteristic qualities appear - so goes the thesis - as effects of the predicaments of modern relationship politics. Biomedical perfectionism concerning reproduction and sexualised concern about the child play a central part for the neonormal couple, and they endanger it in no way, but rather strengthen it. Ethics is technology in this case, biotechnology amongst biotechnologies - as far as it accompanies the behaviour of individuals, couples, and populations in a steering way. Sexualised (and thus biopolitical) communitisation but also the project character of the pair bond sexualise. With this thesis as a guideline, the article examines the Denkschrift zu Fragen der Sexualethik [Memorandum on Issues of Sexual Ethics] of the Evangelical Church in Germany published in 1971.
