Das Klopfen an der Tür Migration und Aufnahme im Licht einer Metapher
Zeitschriftenartikel

What moral duties do Germans have when it comes to welcoming refugees and caring for strangers? And what are the moral arguments behind an open or closed border policy? - As the immigration debate tends to create clear conflict lines even among Christian ethicists the article at hand sets out to build creative consensus by employing a metaphor. Inspired by the parable mode of moral deliberation in biblical ethics it invites all interested deliberators to take a look at a different, but possibly comparable scene: How where you to react if your neighbour's children knocked at your door seeking to gain permanent shelter at your house? The article discusses the moral ramification of this scenario and transfers them onto the migration debate within Christian social ethics.
