After a phase during which the interest of Theological Ethics in results of Biblical Exegesis was on the way down, this current article pleads for a closer collaboration between New Testament Studies and Systematic-Theological Ethics. Methodologically, this raises awareness for the constructional element that is inherent in all Theological Ethics. The aim of this collaboration is supposed to be to come to a better understanding of the influence of constructions of Systematic Theology and Exegesis on one another and to distinguish between one's own theological constructs and those of biblical texts in terms of the regulative idea of intentio operis. However, this article does not treat biblical texts as a norm, but as a source of Theological Ethics.
