Die Kinderbibel als Medium religiöser Überlieferung
Zeitschriftenartikel

How will the Christian faith be handed down to coming generations? In modern society as in earlier times this happens in and through families with the help of illustrated children's Bibles, though modern families naturally do not understand themselves as agents of institutional church socialization. They are primarily interested in the needs of their children and less in integration with the religious community. Modern children's Bibles reflect this interest in their articulation of Christian tradition in a language addressed to the individual child. However, children's Bibles can also provide a bridge between family and church socialization. In order to achieve this goal, churches must become aware that the forms of their tradition can enrich and intensify family religious practice.
