"E-Learning" konnte sich keineswegs im schulischen Kontext behaupten. Dort dominiert unumstößlich das am Buch orientierte bzw. literale Lernformat. Im außerschulischen Bereich haben dagegen Kinder und Jugendliche schon lang etwa das Fernsehen als weiteres Lernmedium (an-)erkannt. Es wird gezeigt, dass beim Fernsehen ein Wahrnehmungsmodus priorisiert wird, dessen Potenzialität die literale Schulsozialisation zwar unterminieren kann, jedoch Regelwissen für den Umgang mit multimedialen Hypertexten bereitstellt. Dort geltende raumzeitliche Ordnungsparameter konfligieren mit den typographischen von Schulkulturen. Da die aktuelle Verteidigung des buchkulturellen Bildungsmonopols eine multimediale Beschulung der Gesellschaft verunmöglicht, gilt es konzeptionell die Institutionalisierung eines multimedialen Netzwerkes für Kulturaneignung zu diskutieren.
E-learning has never been able to assert itself within the context of the school. This sector is still irrefutably dominated by the literal learning format focussing on books. In the extrascholastic field, however, children and adolescents have long since acknowledged television, for instance, as an additional learning medium. It is shown that television places priority on a mode of perception the potentiality of which - though it undermines literal school socialization - still provides certain knowledge of rules for dealing with multimedia hypertexts. The space- and time-related parameters of order valid in that sector conflict with the typographic parameters of order valid in school cultures. Since the present defence of the book-cultural monopoly of education makes impossible a multimedial schooling of society, a conceptual discussion of the institutionalization of a multimedial network for the appropriation of culture is needed.
