Hartmut Rosas Resonanztheorie bewegt sich in eigentümlicher Nähe zum Feld des Religiösen. So lässt sich die große Aufmerksamkeit, die ihr von Kirche und Theologie entgegenbracht wird, aus systematisch-theologischer Sicht darauf zurückführen, dass sie protestantische Grundmotive in soziologischem Gewand darbietet. Den eigentlichen Gewinn für zeitgenössische Religionsvertreter/innen sieht der Autor aber darin gegeben, dass Rosa den fraglich gewordenen Stellenwert der Religion als anthropologischer Konstante im Sinne eines konstitutiven Resonanzbedürfnisses neu ins Recht setzt.
Hartmut Rosa's theory of resonance works in unique proximity to the "site" of the religious. It has received significant attention in church and theology due to its presentation of basic Protestant themes in a sociological shape. According to the author of the article, however, the real benefit for religious persons is the way that Rosa resituates the value of religion as an anthropological constant by pointing to a constitutive human need for resonance.
