The empirical study tries to answer the challenge which the boom of Content and Language
Integrated Learning (CLIL) at German high and middle schools constitutes for Religious Education.
CLIL ("bilingualer Unterricht") means teaching a school subject in a foreign language, mostly English. First results from the study, conducted at the University of Education in Ludwigsburg, indicate that teaching RE in a foreign language brings significant chances for religious learning which more than outweigh the problems.
