This article attempts to initially outline the plural phenomenon of free church theologies. For this purpose, both the implicit theology of the members of a free church and the academic theology as it is practiced at three free church universities are taken into account. As a result, in addition to similarities to theology in the context of the regional church, certain specifics of theology in the context of the free church become apparent: Here, theology is connected in a special way with the person or personality development, with the Bible, with congregational practice and with mission.
