Diaconal Social Companies are facing the multi-dimensional task of managing diaconal identity as well as social services and economic efficiency. This paper describes management as a secular and emergent subsystem of the organization according to the St. Galler Management Model. That's why the questions arises: What is the diaconal quality of this management? Is there a diaconal management in general? The article answers the questions paradoxical: Diaconal management is a secular phenomenon and oriented in all organizational fields on the Christian Ethos (Freedom, Love, Justice) as the center of purpose. To this extent, the diaconal quality fulfils a hermeneutical and ethical function in management and remains contingent.
