"Grüne Wunder erleben" theologische Reflexionen zur Naturspiritualität anlässlich einer (fast) aktuellen Neuerscheinung
Zeitschriftenartikel

In the book, 'Grüne Wunder erleben' (lit. Experiencing Nature's Wonders), numerous persons report experiences of healing made in and through the natural world, which have deeply changed their conception of God. 'National Geographic' named 'Naturspiritualität' ("nature spirituality") a "new world religion" in 2019. On this account, Christian theology is challenged to engage in a new conversation. In order to do so, its theology of creation must gain clarity, however. The task will require the ability to lead others toward spiritual experiences in and through nature, as well as the church's impartation of mystagogical competencies. Christian theology is asked to increase access to the dimension of creation in its liturgical practice. Further, though, the church already has a treasure trove of Trinitarian experiences with God. Christians can and should learn to tell and to explain these "wonders", too, and thus to lead others toward new experiences. As an experiential and storytelling community, the church is a relevant conversation partner for all kinds of spiritual seekers.
