According to many commentators, the Protestant ethics of peace fails because it holds the international law as the frame of peace almost exclusively. This failure has become apparent by the war in Ukraine. This article reveals resources for peace theory in Hannah Arendt's works. Arendt distinguishes sharply between violence and politics: Whereas the violent subject could act as a loner, for politics recognition in plurality is necessary. Arendt draws out a social inter action between actors and spectators, which could be a resource in times when disorientation arises how to act.
