The article describes how the diversity of the present population in Germany lead to the following challenge: Protestant congregations need to learn to overcome their monoethnicism in practice and to move towards interaction on even grounds beyond the constraints of culture and language. The authors describe a kind of best practice example from Italy : In the past 20 years theWaldensian Church together with Baptist and Methodist congregations have developed through the "Federation of Protestant Churches in Italy" a process of "Being Church Together". Thus long established Protestants in Italy, and African or Asian Protestant immigrants have become part of a shared church life.
