Neu Irritierte Kirchen eine vergleichende Analyse der Reformprozesse
Zeitschriftenartikel

The authors of this article were responsible for the interdisciplinary research project on "church reforms in comparison" and are presenting here a final analysis of the reform processes in various churches and community associations. They summarize the results of the study in comparative perspective. The points of comparison chosen here prove productive and show striking parallels as well as significant differences as regards the handling of irritations and crises by the leading agents and committees. Altogether, the churches justify the necessity of reforms primarily with financial problems, while other indicators of crisis take the back seat. This corresponds to the observation that theology does not have any central function for the self-control of the church. All churches pursue rather an opening than a closing strategy as against their social environment.
