The article informs the reader about the current beginnings in training Muslim volunteers for Islamic religious care and counseling. Cultural, legal and religious contexts are outlined. The cooperation of Muslim and Christian partners in the training programs should be extended to building up an Islamic theological theory of the Muslim care of souls.
