By now, all Protestant regional churches in Germany have started intensive reflections on the future of the church. This article analyzes the principal lines of the church development pro-cesses that have been initiated. First, it is asked what determines these processes and ultimately makes them necessary. The text then focuses on which questions and aspects should be given more attention in the future.
