The academic discourses about religious education in schools in general and about pastoral work in the church seem to lie far apart. Both, however, deal with space for religion and try to relate ?subjective? and ?objective religion? to each other. Under this perspective, commonalities in the fields of church theory, homiletics, and religious education are described and thus the advantages of an integrative practical theology are outlined.
