In consideration of the expected great social significance of assistive technologies, it is surprising that both theological ethics and practical theology previously adopted this issue only very reluctantly. Special ethical reflections are needed on the current development of emotional robots, as they could be used to replace human relationship tasks; tasks, related to the core of human destiny. By referring to four recent ethical publications the author considers the opportunities and risks involved in the using the therapy robot "PARO".
