The church historian Eusebius of Caesarea passes a rhetorically well-crafted letter of Christians in Lyon and Vienne to their fellow believers in the Asia down to us. In this letter, the bodies of the martyrs play a crucial role. The present article analyses the depiction of the corporeality of the slave-maid Blandina in more detail, whom the anonymous author presents in three scenes as brave athlete, embodiment of Christ and caring mother.
