The essay investigates the theological implications of a new empirical approach in the research of the religion of children, focussing on the so-called 'Kindertheologie' as the children's own theology. The presentation tries to outline a theoretical framework for the new approach by looking at it from exegetical, systematical and practical theological perspectives, here in drawing on the Tuebingen concept of elementarization.
