"They Surfed für One Summer Only": How the Alleged Downturn in Youth Interest in the Internet Affects Educational Concepts of Church Activity Programs. In accordance with the objectives of emancipatory social work, the article challenges the idea that internet use is unrelated to 'genuine' church activities, and argues instead that it can enhance church members' media competence. A description of an ongoing church activity project encouraging young people's interaction with the various aspects of personal computers and the internet is given.
