Yuval Noah Harari's "Homo Deus" (2017) encourages us to think about the future and transformation of humanity. This article begins with an introductory account of Harari 's elegant and ambiguous thought - the "visionary". Then attention is paid to anthropological and theological motifs, "the open", "the limited" and "the relational". In a final step the transformations of the human are put into perspective in the light of both an "ethics of seeing" and an "ethics of being".
