In a critique of Thies Gundlach's article in this journal in the year 2008, this article argues that implicitly following the logics of quality management systems like the ISO norm and total quality management is inadequate. Rather the quality of individual and shared competences and of interaction within the organisation needs to be emphasised in church management.
