The question or the prerequisit and possibilities of reconciliation in a world marked by conflict und histories of guilt poses particular challenges for theological ethics. If theology wants to contribute something substantial to the discourses on reconciliation of the present, it is confronted with the task of bringing the questions of God's reconciliation with the world dealt within dogmatics into conversation with the precarious and fragile phenomenon of interpersonal und societal reconciliation. This article presents two possible theological conceptions of reconciliation - a christocentric and a process-theological one - and sheds light not only on the ethical dimensions but also on the images and agencies of God that are involved in the theoretical frameworks.
