1) A comparison of the fundamental values within the meanwhile drafted constitution of the EU and those of Turkish constitute criminal and civil law reveal a deep rooted incompatibility. 2) At present there is no reason to appreciate a legal or political claim of Turkey concerning full membership. Within the EU - resulting either from former negotiations or from international treaties. 3) There is a deplorable lack of tracking these topics in the public discussion, caused by a special understanding of "political correctness". 4) Common interest of Europe (including the German interests) could be better expressed by additional agreements, based on a privilege partnership of both.
