Marketing strategies of church reform tend to overlook the data on the wishes and expectations and the specific forms of church bonding among the majority church members at a considerable distance to the church. They show that the patterns of bonding are produced by the individuals and cannot easily be influenced through organisational measures. Church services, family ritual services and help for people in need are the most cherished dimensions of church, which is also in accordance with Protestant theology. Measures and structure reforms should thus make sure that these dimensions of church are the ones that have priority.
