Miriam Waddington (1917-2004) was a Canadian poet and essayist from Russian-Jewish descent. During the 1940's and 50's Waddington worked as a caseworker and social work teacher. In 1964 she became a professor of English at York University till she retired in 1983. Waddington published her first work Green World, a series of lyrics, in 1945. The short story "I'm lonesome for Harrisburg" was published in the collection Summer at Lonely Beach and Other Stories in 1982.
